The Department of Defense has identified 3,147 American service members who have died since the start of the Iraq war. It confirmed the deaths of the following Americans yesterday:

BUFORD, Travis W., 23, Pfc., Army; Galveston, Tex.; Second Infantry Division.

HAGER, Joshua R., 29, Staff Sgt., Army; Broomfield, Colo.; Second Infantry Division.

WALTER, Rowan D., 25, Pfc., Army; Winnetka, Calif.; Second Infantry Division.
